Access to a clean water is still a luxury in Madagascar.
Most of our children do not have running water at home. Bringing buckets of water is one of children’s main chores in their housholds.
Personal hygiene training is among our main activities at schools. We provide regular 'wash activities’ within the Education for Life project. The programme is funded by our partner in UK Money for Madagascar. This time our students helped the youngest pupils from FJKM school in Ambohidratrimo to learn how correctly and effectively brush their teeth and wash their hands. Everybody received their tooth brushes and tooth paste to take home. Often children set the good example for their parents by learning new habits at school.
Recent situation due to coronavirus pandemic makes it particulary important to make sure our children have access to all basic personal hygiene accessories which they often lack in their homes.
